Going 10-12 times a day is not a touch more than normal, it's a lot more. Normal is 5-6 times a day. You could have a small bladder, which you can check by waiting until it is full and peeing in a measuring cup or something. I don't recall the exact numbers but I think average is about 400cc for adult males. I have no idea if an alarm would help or not. It seems to me that the alarm is a conditioning device and its success would depend on frequent repeating a desired behaviour, and being awakened by the alarm infrequently might not give the necessary conditioning. On the other hand some alarms are not very expensive and it might be worth a try.
