Doug:....Tom and Bill both have you on the right track. However, you must pay attention to the construction described, since almost all make up a rather thick diaper, with multiple layers all over and then add to it with more layers in the 'pad'. If you need that(aside from cost)you may appreciate the absorbancy, but while they wash well in the washer, they are a [bear] to dry. Takes a long time in a dryer which uses up alot of $$ should you have to do your laundry in a commercial setting such as a laudermat....You might be just as happy with less thickness which is best obtained with pin-on diapers. You can order usually the number of plys you want, both in rectangular prefold diapers or in shaped or contoured cloth diapers. Contoured cuts down on bulk, if they would work for you, but prefolds are just as comfortable to wear anytime you need them, day or nite....Going one step further, if you read enough or look around enuf on the internet, you can get diapers made to your own measurments along with advice, but do not ever buy prefolds which are too large, as that too becomes a problem with extra material.
