My Dr. also has me on DDAVP. Wehn I was in my 20s a differnet Dr. had me on imipramine formy chronic bedwetting. Teh impramine had lsts of nasty side effects. The urologists cnat' find anything wrong. They say I jsut doe't seem to wake to bladder pressure. Anyway. The DDAVP is about 50% effective for me. It definitely helps and i am dry haldf the time. But without it i owudl be wet every night. Also when i go on dryg "holidays" and stop taking the drug fora coupel wekks. Holy cow. The bedwettign returns with a vengence. For some DDAVP eliminates the wet nights totally as long as you stay on it and for some it doesn't make any effect and for most it just improves it to varying degrrees. Good luck. Its only a tool to help manage. But my Doc. clearly says its not a cure.
