Reply from Rick, Age 53 - 5/28/04 - IP#: 68.95.123.xxx bigbb_10-c6902 I know this is a kids forum, but from time to time an adult can see something kids miss. I am a retired teacher, every one ocassionally has a sudden overactive kidney, bladder infection, or simply just didn't or couldn't go during the break time. It doesn't matter. From what you wrote, this is an isolated event. The fact that you peed big time indicates that there is nothing wrong except the bladder simply overflowed. You are not having day to day problems. In the adult world in the USA, employers may not prevent an adult from going to the restroom when they need to go. Youth should not be denied either. Sure those who abuse the visit need to be called down, but everyone should have an opportunity for an emergency. I read this post to mean that you were not allowed to leave the room no matter the emergency. That is plain wrong. I never denied a student and I keep students from abusing the visit at the same time. So you kids out there, be very respectful to your teachers and parents, but don't sit there and wet your pants. Get up and go and then go see the nurse immedately. You may get into trouble, but holding your urine that long can damage your bladder. And kids, remember this post when you are older and get this changed. Prisoners are allowed restroom visits. Children should be treated better than those who have broken the law and are in prison. Youth should start working now to get this changed. Most parents would support you if they knew the circumstances. But teenagers are embarassed to tell their parents how often they have full bladders and are denied access to the restroom. This pattern of abuse of children and teens needs to stop. I know of too many kids who developed bladder infections and kidney stones from holding it too long. For those teens out there that think you can hold it all day and think that I am overreacting, consider this. If you live to the ripe old age of 80, you will have at least one episode like this young lad had. You will get get into a situation with an emergency and no restroom being made available. How do you want to be treated by the person who has the "keys" to the toilet? |
