Dear Sharon,Having read the postings on your plight! I feel that if you have a washing machine then there is not much of a problem! except drying the sheets etc; However there is not a problem with you if you have exhausted all other possibilities first as you say you have gone to the doctors and nothing is wrong Good that is good news! now you can say to him sturnly but kindly (if you know what i mean!) I am not going to tolerate this behaviour if you do persist in wetting the bed then you must be prepaired to take responsibility for your actions (give an example of you takeing responsibility for your actions) therefore I want you to help me! when you get up you take your sheet off the bed and wash yourself then dress then take your wet pj's and the sheet and put it in the washing machine then you get a clean sheet and make your bed! he may get sick of doing this and think i must do something about this! and may change his mind but I dont think the nappies will change his mind as i said he is eqateing it to being a babyand you wont change that! as the other Tom said pullups look like ordinary underwear (nappies and plastic pants your son is equateing them to being a baby which is normal for a child of his age to do) he needs educating as others have said to you in previous posts! I still dont think forceing is the way to go about things, yes we have to think of what is best for our children and if you are saying forcing a child to do something he does not want is in his best interests, well there are 2 schools of thought on that topic the pro's and those who are against it I am neither I am in the middle but that's beside the point the point is your challenge you have over coming your sons temporary eneretic problem are you married only you mention your girlfriend only if you are not married and split up with your partner that can have an effect on your son as well!(do you know if he wets it on purpose? or when about the time of night he wets the bed? do you have a plastic sheet underneath the sheet to protect the bed? does he sleep through the night in the wet bed or does he wake up?can you explain what you meant by he never really got the hang of potty training?does he soil his pants and wet them during the day ie contantly occasionally or just say once a week if its occasionally how many times a day? is your son a nervous child?in order to get an outcome it would give us a better understanding of your childs makeup! I know as a child I wet the bed it can be hereditary! but also I was a nervous child which contributed to the bed wetting!. why is it so important for you to put the nappy and plastic pants on your son? must close now please get back to us on this best wishes Tom
