On the other hand, it does make life difficult at times. In particular, it's hard to find a partner who will understand. At 10, it may not be too late to head it off. I would recommend that you tell him (if it comes up again) that he, along with his siblings, are all too old for diapers. Then I would gather up all the baby stuff you have and take it to a dumpster a few miles away. If he has no access to diapers, he will have a much harder time choosing that path. If you still have diapers and plastic pants in the house, he will find them and try them. Even having no access isn't a guarantee. A towel and a trash bag can be used as a diaper. Whats important is that you don't make it easy right now. If he is still interested in diapers by puberty, then it's too late probably. At that point, you are better off accepting it and discussing it with him. If he has to hide it from everyone he knows, he will feel like he is a freak. Good luck, Bill |
