In talking about my Rick, a psychologist told me that bed wetters feel out of control of their shame, and that wetting on purpose can give a (perverse) sense of control over their shame. OK, some will argue about the word perverse. Whatever. The fact is, even if this happens to your child, in many cases, most of the accidents may be genuine. The key here is to know your child, listen to them with compassion for where they are, and gently guide them one step at a time to where they'll live happier lives. |
