We do not go out of our way to embarrass our son. However when we travel or are out of town we are not concerened about the bulgie pants because we will not run into anyone he knows. Reletives we also dont care about him being seen. This plan we keep very flexible; on weekends spent in town we leave room for negotiating. For example if he has a ball game we make exceptions and he can negotiate the time with us. We may agree on two hours before the game and then straight home for one hour or the rest of the day ect. This cuts into any social time he would have had which makes it inconvienent for him which is exacly want you want.It also leaves us room to work around other activities he has going on without being to strict with our punishment. If neighorhood kids call for him we never let him answer the door. So the embarassing part or humilation comes only when around reletives or out of town on a trip. The board is kept on his closet door which is always open so if friends come in when he is off diaper time I just close the door so it is out of site. |
