Anything now said would likely be a guess or speculation, so accept it for whatever value it might have. It is very possible that your 9yo was wanting to "upstage" you 5yos for some reason not clear at first. He is not doing anything apparently to grab your attention. He doesn't want the twins to have the pull-ups, but he himself does want them. You say he claimed he was not USING them, but if he did, you would eventually catch up with the situation for other reasons as well, but you would probably find your pull-up pile getting lower and lower over time and the soiled pull-ups gathered someplace. This does happen to others just like that. We need to know WHY he wants the briefs. Before it is too late, unless you have already done so, sit the 9yo down and ask him(calmly please and just you alone)to see if he has a reason for liking them. See what information you can glean from this chat, assuring him that you love him and just want to know what you can do to help....Now the 5's, it would look like you have a very similar situation. That is, why do they want to wear pull-ups? Pull-ups are of course in reality a pull-on diaper, but you are already aware that for the 5's this is not as sensative a thing as for the 9yo.
