If there is no medical reason for the bedwetting of the child they should be given the bare neccesitaries to deal with the problem that is cloth nappies ,lots of them ,zinc oxide cream if required , safety pins and a plastic sheet to protect the mattress and by 10 years old they can wash them [a rinse and swish with soap powder in the basin is enough if done first thing in the morning] and they can hang them on the line themselves Do wet sheets for them till a little longer Plastic pants are not needed and research is finding that they are infact harmful An extra cloth nappy between the legs and an extra around the waist for boys can be used Putting them on themselves by 14 is about the right age Then the parent should IGNORE the problem other than replacing worn cloth as required It is their choice to wear them Spankings etc should be avoided but dont go out of the way to hide their wetting from others by hiding it Not attending to washing duties could be punishable Deliberate wetting should be deliberately ignored and be of as little inconvieniance to the parent as possible Overnight stays should be not a problem but dont allow others to tease them
