Reply from Tom, Child's Age N/A - 8/3/03 - IP#: 68.11.136.xxx parbb-c1499 If you are concerned about how your daughter's bedwetting will be handled at camp you might contact the camp and discuss that with the staff. I don't know about most camps but I have read messages from parents and older kids with similar problems, and can relate at least one personal experience. My daughter, now 14, has attended a camp for the past 4 years and has now become a junior counselor there. All of the matresses at this camp have waterproof covers because some of the campers are bedwetters and some of those are reluctant to admit that in advance (although that question is asked on the registration form). Those that need help are assisted by the counselors with no embarrrasing comments. The question is, how does your daughter feel about her problem - would she be embarassed if others find out about her bedwetting? If as you said she really wants to go, then let her go, and the staff there will probably be able to give her whatever help she needs. |
