Reply from Bob, Child's Age 15,16 - 9/6/03 - IP#: 67.75.200.xxx parbb-c1568 I know that everyone here will tell you to put him in nappies, but you can simply set an alarm clock to wake him up to use the toilet. If his bladder is empty he will not wet the bed - it's pretty simple. Set the alarm clock to wake him about 1/2 to one hour before he typically wets. In the beginning you may have to help him wake up, but he can eventually learn to wake up to the alarm clock himself. Rewards for him waking up may help. A 19 year old girl posted on this board previously that she wakes herself twice with an alarm clock in the night to use the toilet, and she stays dry. My 16 year old daughter does the same. Our pediatrician says that nappies can delay growing out of bedwetting. |
