We took her to the doctor and he found nothing physically wrong and suggested a bed wetting alarm. We bought one and also stated she was responsible for getting the wet sheets off the bed in the morning. She would not put the alarm on at night and would not take the sheets off in the morning so we did have a lazy problem to deal with. It is important to have the child take some responsibility for helping the parent out with the wetting problem. In our case afer countless requests to wear the alarm and help us with the sheets did not produce any response on her part, We put her back in diapers to help motivate her. A seamtress in our area designed cloth diapers ten ply. We went the old fashiond way pins and rubber pants. We diapered right afer supper. If she had to go potty while up she had to ask us to take the diaper off for potty. When finished she was re-diapered. Afer a month of this she was putting her alarm on and taking the wet diaper to the pale in the morning. We used the 10 ply diaper at bed time also only with an elastic waist band so that she could easily remove the diaper and rubber pants if she got up at night. During the day however it was pined. This worked for us and took about two months of diapering. If she wont take some responsibility take it away from her and use thick diapers that will be uncomfortable for her to wear. I am sure you will get results. Sometimes you have to take a strict stern approach. Jackie |
