Dear Amy, you have said its only 4 or 5 nights per week not constantly that means she is dry 2-3 times out of 7 which means that she will be able to train her self do you with your 14 yr old suttly remind her to go to the toilet before going to bed as that may help secondly I concur with the other posts on the board that puberty can cause problems in bedwetting its finding out whats best for your 14 year old I would not force wearing protection on your 14 year old as she then may feel that you are treating her like a baby I would tactfully ask her and make it that she is makeing the decitions but of course you are tactfully guiding her to the best decition! you certainly dont want to have two babies in your family (and I dont mean that remark to be any reflection on you or your parenting!) if you decide on trying to coax your 14 yr old to wear protection use the word protection and not nappies or pullups etc;if she does rebel then you have to say to her in order to protect the bed I have to put a plastic protection cover on your bed otherwise wetting it will ruin it. do you use plastic pants with your younger child or do pullups suffice? the bedpad thing is a good idea except if your daughter is a wriggler such as I was and kicked the bed clothes off and even my lower sheet then putting a pad on the bed isnt such a good idea!! hope this is of help to you! Best wishes, Tom.Uk
