Sorry about the controversy some times I get myself in trouble not knowing when to shut up. For the questions who knows why some stuff gets posted and some doesn’t. It sounds like you have plenty of family history though. There are a couple of things to consider when a child starts to wet again after being dry for 8 years. An adolescent might see wetting and protection as a link to a fading childhood and innocence. If she has a younger sister who has always wet and uses protection then she might consciously or subconsciously try to identify with her by returning to wetting. Another possibility although I don’t think it’s as common as some might think. The rest of her grew faster than her bladder and at that point she began to wet her bed again after 8 years of being dry. If any child starts to wet again you must ask your self was that child truly dry at night or was she just lucky for all those years. I read a study that suggests that seven out of ten children will wet their bed if given large amounts of liquid to drink before bed. If you or most adults drink something before bed you will simply have to get up to go to the bathroom sometime that night. Did she go 8 years without a single accident or were there a few from time to time? No matter what the cause she needs support as a 14 year old. I do believe a 14 year old is very much still a child but starting to become a woman and confused. It is hard for the parent to transition from seeing her only a child to seeing her as an adult. It is even harder for the child to transition. Mom and I almost killed each other. have a good one Steph :)
