Reply from Tom, Child's Age N/A - 7/15/04 - IP#: 159.39.19.xxx parbb-c1936 I’m guessing that your daughter doesn’t wear diapers or pull-ups to bed at home because if she did you wouldn’t have a problem. If she does wear diapers and they work well, she could just wear them on the trip, but I would use a washable bed pad for additional protection in case of a leak. The disposable pads aren’t large enough and they don’t stay in place very well. See www.becksclassic.com for example. You probably don’t have time to order one but you might find something similar locally. (Check Babies R’ Us if there is one nearby.) If she doesn’t wear a diaper or pull-up at home and you don’t want to make a big deal of the situation, then you may not want to make her wear one on the vacation. But even without making a big deal of it, you should discuss the subject with her just to let her know wetting a hotel bed is really not an option, and some precaution will be needed. You could suggest that a diaper or pull-up may be a good idea when away from home. If she is receptive to that idea then get enough diapers or pull-ups for the trip, and use the bed pad in case of leaks; otherwise use the bed pad with a folded bath towel over it. It also sounds like you are going to do a lot of driving and kids sometimes fall asleep in the car. Wearing a pull-up if you will be driving late in the evening is also a good idea. |
