Reply from Tom, Child's Age N/A - 7/20/04 - IP#: 159.39.19.xxx parbb-c1944 Goodnights work for many kids but there have been numerous complaints of leaks since they went to the new trim fit style that is less absorbent; but they may work for your daughter if she isn’t a heavy wetter. A size 6 Luvs or Huggies baby diaper will probably still fit her, especially if she is a bit slim or small for her age. They are made for larger babies and toddlers, but stretch enough to fit older kids; and they are designed to contain multiple wettings without leaking and would be much better for overnight use than Goodnights. I would get a pack of Goodnights and a pack of size 6 diapers. The Goodnights might be good if daytime protection is needed since they can be pulled up and down, but a thick diaper would be best for night. I would also get at least one pair of plastic pants (the large size made for toddlers will probably fit) and a washable bed pad if you can find those items locally. That would provide back-up protection in case of a leak. If you can’t find a washable bed pad, get a roll of plastic, the kind used for tablecloths for picnic tables. Bring about a ten-foot length of the plastic. It can be stretched completely across the bed and tucked in on both sides. Then put a folded bath towel on it where she will be lying. The towel can be held in place with a bit of tape if necessary. |
